We actually have 2 rooms coming up in the near future, with slightly different setups!
The rooms:
- Library/guest room for short term stays
- The princess room! For a longer-term tenant
Which room you choose has as much to do with what you want out of being part of the Our Lady magic as it does with which room speaks to your soul. Here’s the deal:
The Princess Room is set up for a longer stay. Unfurnished, it’s 12’x15′ with a deep closet and windows on two sides. Plenty of morning and afternoon light, you face the street and the tree-lined driveway (no kidding, if you pop the window screen out and reach a little, you might be able to grab an orange.) Hardwood floors, coved ceiling, vintage window details, and a heater and window AC to keep you comfy. For this room, we’re looking for a tenant who wants to participate in home life: we have regular low-key events at the house now that it’s safer to do that, like anime nights, dinner parties, and the occasional big weird art project. We also do most of our own cleaning and home maintenance, so our ideal tenant doesn’t mind tidying up after themselves, or rolling up their sleeves for a day every few months to go ham on the garden or something. (We do have a cleaning crew come from time to time to do the deep-clean kind of stuff.) The room rents at $850 per month, + a share of utilities.
Don’t feel like that level of engagement? It’s cool. It’s not for everybody. If you’re a short-stay tenant (new to town and checking it out? visiting for work? hit a sticky housing situation and need a month or two to figure something out?) the Library might be more your jam. It’s upstairs in the back, measures 11’x14′, with a standard closet. Windows on two sides face east over the neighbor’s house and south to our covered back porch. This room comes FURNISHED: lined with bookshelves, and a full-sized futon bed and antique set of tansu chests for your belongings. You’ll have full access to the household amenities, including a full kitchen and a hot tub out back, and of course you are welcome to join in house social life, but because this is not a long-term rental, we are more open to tenants who just want to keep to themselves. This room rents at $700/month or $200/week, but a sliding scale is available depending on your situation.
Both rooms will be ready as of August 1st.
